BREAKING: Millions of Phones were Tracked by the CDC for Lockdown Compliance.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention obtained entry to millions of Americans’ cellphone data for purposes other than COVID-19 surveillance.
According to records acquired by Vice News, the CDC compensated $420,000 to SafeGraph last year for significant exposure to one year’s esteem of cell phone location information.
SafeGraph’s data provides visibility into where individuals reside, work, and travel. The CDC intended to track schools and churches using phone location knowledge. According to the papers, the CDC’s first pandemic surveillance utilization was crucial for ongoing crisis response, such as hourly observation of activity in curfew regions or comprehensive counts of visitation to partner pharmacies for vaccination surveillance.
This information was gathered from at least 20 million regular cellphone owners in the United States on a daily basis.
