By 2025, There Will Be The First Hotel in Space.

In only three years, living in space may be possible.

Viewing of the universe outside your space hotel window might be the new frontier. Orbital Assembly has released fresh details and sketches for their proposed space hotel, which has been in the works since 2019. Orbital Assembly now plans to launch not one, but two spacecrafts with vacation accommodations: Voyager Station, the rebranded initial design, will seat 400 people and operate in 2027, while Pioneer Station, which would house 28 persons, may be ready in only three years from now.

Yeah, it’s amazing, and it’s Stanley Kubrick’s vision come true, but money should be spent on Earth, right? Sustainable societies are most likely the goal in this scenario, but isn’t the permanence of our own existence and the biosphere on Earth a little more relevant now that we’re facing a recession and a upcoming food shortage? Or perhaps this is the next progressive stage in human activity. But this raises the issue of how coming generations will be able to afford this or make adjustments and thrive in a radically different climate with a scarcity of basic elements as we have today.
